Installation
and Maintenance of the ST200 Service Edge Router
Duration: One day
Cost: $600
Course Overview
This one-day course covers the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
of ST200 Service Edge Routers. Students will learn how to install
all ST200 components including Route Control Processors, Network
Processor Blades, Packet Switching Fabrics and Physical Interface
(PHY) cards. In addition, students will learn initial configuration
tasks (setting up user accounts and security) and how to perform
field-level maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Lab exercises
reinforce the course material.

ST200 Service Edge Router

Course Overview
This three-day course provides a detailed examination of the hardware
and software architecture of the ST200 Service Edge Router. The
course focuses on the configuration of common ST200 features,
including routing protocols, MPLS and IETF Draft Martini Layer
2 Transport services. Hands-on lab exercises reinforce the basics
of creating an initial configuration, configuring interfaces and
enabling routing protocols.
Installation and Operation
of the ShadeTree Management Suite
Duration: Two days
Cost: $1,200
Course Overview
This two-day course covers the installation and operation of the
ShadeTree Management Suite, a powerful, integrated provisioning
and element management system for the ST200 Service Edge Router.
Through intensive lab exercises, students will learn how to provision
services such as dedicated Internet access, Layer 2 Transport
and MPLS IP VPNs using the LPS.
MPLS and Layer 2 Transport
Duration: Three days
Cost: $1,800
Course Overview
This three-day course provides an in-depth examination of how
MPLS is implemented on ECI routers. The course begins with a review
of MPLS and a discussion of RSVP. It then focuses on the configuration
and troubleshooting of MPLS on ECI routers. Finally, the course
explores using IETF Draft Martini for delivering Layer 2 VPNs
over an MPLS network. The majority of class time is spent on lab
exercises designed to prepare network technicians to configure
MPLS-based services.
MPLS IP VPNs
Duration: Three days
Cost: $1,800
Course Overview
This is an advanced course that focuses on provisioning MPLS IP
virtual private networks (VPNs) on ECI routers. The course begins
with an overview of MPLS IP VPNs. It then provides detailed instruction
on provisioning MPLS IP VPNs using both the ECI command line interface
(CLI) and the ShadeTree Management Suite. Since this is an advanced
course, the student should be familiar with ECI products and have
a working knowledge of IP/MPLS routing protocols.
Implementing Quality
of Service
Duration: Three days
Cost: $1,800
Course Overview
This three-day course provides a detailed examination of Quality
of Service (QoS) theory and implementation. The course first explores
fundamental QoS concepts, including classification, usage parameter
control (UPC) contracts, weighted random early detection, queuing,
shaping and scheduling. The course then examines how various QoS
mechanisms are implemented on ECI routers. Through practical,
intensive hands-on lab exercises, students will learn how to configure
and apply sophisticated and powerful QoS policies to a range of
applications including Layer 2 VPNs, MPLS IP VPNs and IP flows.
