Laurel's service edge routers
and service management solutions are designed and developed by
industry leaders with years of experience building telecommunications
solutions installed in the world's largest service provider networks.
Robert
Rennison, Co-Founder and Director of Routing and Signaling
Software, is an industry pioneer with over 15 years of experience
in the data communications and networking industries. Rob developed
the first IP traffic engineering solutions to be deployed by large
ISPs, including UUNET, Cable & Wireless and Level 3. As a
Principal Engineer at FORE Systems, Rob designed and implemented
routing, signaling and redundancy protocols on FORE's core Internet
switching products. Many of the capabilities originally developed
by Rob and his team have been adopted by the IETF MPLS working
group. He was a significant contributor to the ATM Forum and continues
to contribute technical work to the IETF and OIF (Optical Internetworking
Forum).
Dimitris
Varotsis, Co-Founder and Director of Network Systems Software,
brings more than a decade of focused experience in data communications
and computer networking to his current position. As principal
engineer at FORE Systems, he led the development efforts of IP
routing and MPLS switching on FORE's Internet switch product line.
He also provided critical technical leadership for many other
FORE products, including development of the software architecture
for FORE's flagship ASX-4000 Internet switch.
Jeffrey
Prem, Co-Founder and Director of System Services Software,
has a solid background in developing high availability operating
systems, with over a decade of industry experience. While at FORE
Systems, Jeff's efforts were key in developing the software infrastructure
needed to transform FORE switches into carrier-class switching
products which ultimately led to FORE's success with large ISPs.
Prior to FORE, he developed systems software for Transarc Corporation's
distributed file systems products and for AT&T's UNIX System
V kernel.
Pat
Duegaw, Director of Manufacturing, has more than 20
years experience in the development of the supply chain infrastructures
required to efficiently build and volume deliver PC and networking
products. As a founding member of Berkeley Networks, Pat built
a manufacturing team and implemented a supply chain model to support
short cycle development and volume delivery requirements for a
new NT-based IP switch, resulting in significant cost savings
in the manufacturing process. Before joining Laurel Networks,
Pat was Manufacturing Manager for New Product Introduction at
FORE Systems.
