Laurel Networks Participates
in World's Largest Multi-vendor MPLS Interoperability Test
Will also Participate in "Ready for Revenue"
MPLS Showcase Set to Take Place at SUPERCOMM 2002
Pittsburgh, PA - June 4, 2002 - Laurel
Networks, Inc., the first provider of high-performance service
edge routers, today announced its participation in the world's
largest multi-vendor MPLS interoperability test organized by the
MPLS Forum, an international industry organization driving worldwide
deployment of multi-vendor MPLS networks, applications, and services.
"Laurel has been an innovator in the development
of MPLS-based technologies, such as IETF Draft Martini, which
was co-authored by Laurel technical leaders," said Steve
Vogelsang, vice president of marketing and co-founder, Laurel
Networks. "MPLS has increasingly gained acceptance as a technology
of choice in the world's largest service provider networks. The
MPLS Forum event highlights the acceptance of MPLS by carriers,
as well as its technology readiness and ability to support revenue-generating
services such as MPLS Layer 2 and IP VPNs."
Laurel Networks was among 21 equipment vendors
that successfully tested interoperability for MPLS technology,
applications and services. The interoperability test event took
place from April 15-24. All 21 vendors will be participating in
a live MPLS interoperability showcase taking place at SUPERCOMM
at the MPLS Forum booth (Hall C2, booth #11559, Georgia World
Congress Center, Atlanta, June 4-6, 2002). A white paper discussing
the test methodology as well as key findings from the test event
will be made available to attendees who visit the MPLS Forum booth.
