Laurel Networks Joins Isocore Internetworking
Lab
Teams with Service Providers
and Vendors to Promote New Networking Technologies
July 24, 2003 - Pittsburgh,
PA Laurel Networks,
Inc., the first provider of high-performance service edge routers,
today announced that the company has joined the Isocore Internetworking
Lab, where premier service providers and major vendors are collaborating
to achieve interoperability among network equipment implementing
the latest Internet Protocol features.
Isocore facilitates internetworking through validation
and interoperability testing designed to promote development and
rapid deployment of new networking technologies. Recent Isocore
events have tested multi-vendor interoperability of MPLS Fast
Re-route, Protection Switching, MPLS IP VPNs (based on RFC 2547bis),
Draft Martini-based Layer 2 VPN implementations and Virtual Private
LAN Services (VPLS). As an Isocore member, Laurel's award-winning
ST200 Service Edge Router will participate in upcoming interoperability
and product feature test events.
"Laurel has been actively involved in the development of
new technologies such as Layer 2 and IP VPNs that are of extreme
interest to service providers as they look to expand their portfolio
of offerings," said Rajiv Papneja, Manager of Validation
and Product Evaluation at Isocore. "We are pleased to add
their expertise and experience to our efforts to advance the state
of service provider networking through cooperative testing of
the latest networking technologies."
"Isocore brings together service providers
and vendors to promote the exchange of ideas and deliver actionable
interoperability test results," said Steve Vogelsang, co-founder
and vice president of marketing, Laurel Networks. "This market
driven focus is what led Laurel to join Isocore and we expect
that our customers will ultimately benefit from our work there."
