Laurel Demonstrates Turbo Button in
DSLHome SUPERDemo at SUPERCOMM
ST200 B-RAS Delivers High-quality Video
and Dynamically Tunable Internet Service on the Same User Session
June 23, 2004 - Pittsburgh, PA - Laurel
Networks, Inc. today announced that its ST200 Service Edge
Router is demonstrating advanced turbo button functionality and
high-quality video delivery in the DSLHome SUPERDemo
(Booth #20229) at SUPERCOMM 2004. The DSLHome is a hands-on
demonstration of a TR-059 based end-to-end DSL network supporting
the latest in home networking gateways, and exciting family and
home office applications including video on demand, streaming
video, IP telephony, online gaming and video conferencing.
In the living room area of the DSLHome,
Laurel's ST200 B-RAS (broadband remote access server) provides
the wire-speed performance and sophisticated TR-059 QoS (quality
of service) to support advanced turbo button functionality and
high-quality video delivery. In the live turbo button demonstration,
the ST200 supports video-on-demand, streaming multicast video
and dynamically tunable Internet connectivity on the same user
session. Via a web portal tied to the ST200, users can increase
or decrease their web browsing connection speed while the video
quality remains unaffected.
"The DSLHome demonstration highlights
the unique ability of the ST200 platform to support the sophisticated
triple play services that are driving broadband deployment worldwide,"
said Steve Vogelsang, vice president of marketing and co-founder,
Laurel Networks. "We're excited for the thousands of SUPERCOMM
attendees to see first-hand the ST200's ability to support high-quality
video delivery while giving users the power to dynamically adjust
their connection speed via the turbo button application."
