Laurel Networks Wins SUPERQuest Award
at SUPERCOMM 2003

Wins Backbone/Edge Networking Category
June 4, 2003 - Atlanta,
GA Laurel Networks,
Inc., the first provider of high-performance service edge routers,
was honored at SUPERCOMM's 6th Annual SUPERQuest Awards
Ceremony, held June 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Laurel's
ST200 Service Edge Router Broadband Software Module was
named the most promising network technology in the Backbone/Edge
Networking category.
The ST200 is the first BRAS (Broadband
Remote Access Server) with Service Separation and Blending
(SSB), a key innovation required to deliver advanced broadband
services over a single customer connection. SSB includes the high
bandwidth-per-subscriber, advanced QoS and integrated routing
and switching required for multimedia broadband service delivery.
Laurel's award-winning ST200 BRAS capabilities are being demonstrated
publicly for the first time at SUPERCOMM 2003 (exhibit #21237).
SUPERCOMM 2003, the premier annual communications
infrastructure technology exhibition and conference, is being
held this week at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Exhibits are open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and tomorrow,
June 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For six years, the SUPERQuest Awards
have honored the best-built networks and most promising new technologies
among SUPERCOMM exhibitors and their customers worldwide. SUPERQuest
Award recipients have been selected as the best of the best in
delivering exceptional network design, supporting technologies
and products across all facets of the communications infrastructure
industry. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges which include
industry leading technology press, analysts and other experts.
According to Jack Chalden, general manager of
SUPERCOMM, "The strength and resiliency of this industry
is reflected in the SUPERQuest Award Winners and Runners-Up.
These forward-thinking, innovative companies give promise to the
continuing growth and development of this industry and show us
exactly where we should be headed in the future."
SUPERQuest Award nominations were
accepted based on the following criteria:
. Companies must have a presence at SUPERCOMM 2003, either
through their own booth, that of a partner or by securing meeting
room space on the exhibit floor.
. Service Providers or Enterprise Organizations (Product
Service Manufacturer) who have put their services or operations
into commercial use during the previous calendar year (2002).
.Vendors and/or Suppliers nominated for new technologies
and products must have released their products to the market within
one month of SUPERCOMM 2003 (May 1, 2003).
