Laurel Networks Relocates to Larger Facility to Support Company Growth

Pittsburgh, PA, May 1, 2001 - Laurel Networks, a company developing high performance IP service routers for the edge of long-haul backbone networks, today announced the opening of its new headquarters in a greatly expanded facility in Robinson Township, Allegheny County.

Laurel’s fast-track growth dictated the move to this new space, which provides Laurel’s Pittsburgh-based staff of 125 with 30,000 square feet of space with room for expansion to support future business needs. The space will be utilized as offices, laboratories, and a customer briefing center and will serve as the center for design, development, and prototyping of Laurel’s networking products.

The move to the Omega Corporate Center, owned and managed by Kossman Development Company, was facilitated by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under the Opportunity Grant Program. Funds connected to the grant were earmarked to support costs associated with the expansion of Laurel’s headquarters facility in the Pittsburgh region. “In the past six years, Pennsylvania has proven its capacity for growth. And high-tech Pennsylvania companies like Laurel Networks are proving it pays to grow in the Commonwealth,” says Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge “Laurel Networks is not only developing high-capacity routing systems for business – they’re helping invent a high-capacity future for Pennsylvania.”

“We were very excited to have the opportunity to lease space in the Omega Corporate Center,” said Atul Bansal, Chief Executive Officer of Laurel Networks. “The site is excellent in its proximity to the airport and the city of Pittsburgh. We’re very proud of our ties to the Pittsburgh area and are very appreciative of the regional efforts that foster a good business climate for high technology companies. This new corporate space will meet the needs of our company and its employees now and well into the future.”

Laurel Networks’ new mailing address, effective April 30th is Omega Corporate Center, 1300 Omega Drive, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15205. The main telephone number is 412-809-4200.
