Laurel Networks Participates in MPLS Interoperability
Demonstration at CeBIT 2003
Joins Multi-vendor EANTC NIC Showcase
of MPLS Layer 2 and IP VPN Technologies Demonstrating Voice over
IP and Web-based Applications over MPLS Network
Pittsburgh, PA March 11, 2003 - Laurel
Networks, Inc., the first provider of high performance service edge
routers, today announced participation in the Network Information
Center (NIC) showcase at CeBIT 2003, the worlds largest IT
and telecommunications fair. Sponsored by the EANTC AG (European
Advanced Networking Test Center) in collaboration with Deutsche
Messe AG, the NIC showcase demonstrates the interaction between
service provider infrastructures, access technologies and enterprise
networks in a modern IP network design.
Laurel Networks ST200 Service Edge Router is part of
the live multi-vendor NIC showcase proving the maturity of MPLS
solutions including Layer 2 VPNs based on IETF Draft Martini as
well as IP VPNs based on RFC 2547bis. Applications showcased in
the MPLS demonstration include voice over IP and a range of web-based
applications. The demonstration will run from March 12 March
19, 2003 at the Network Information Center at CeBIT in Hall 15 /
Booth A14.
Laurel is pleased to participate in the EANTC NIC showcase
with the first public demonstration of the ST200 Service Edge Router
in Germany, said Steve Vogelsang, vice president of marketing
and co-founder of Laurel Networks. The showcase of MPLS Layer
2 and IP VPN technologies in conjunction with applications carriers
are running over these networks gives CeBIT attendees a first-hand
opportunity to see the flexibility that MPLS-based devices such
as
the ST200 bring to service provider networks.
In addition to the MPLS demonstration, the NIC pavilion will include
presentations of technological innovations by manufacturers and
service providers including the latest trends in MPLS, Voice
over DSL, VoIP and Security. Laurel Networks vice president of marketing
and co-founder Steve Vogelsang and director of European operations
Colin Rhodes will each present an overview of service edge routers
on Thursday, March 13 and Monday, March 17. Additional information
about all NIC activities is available at www.eantc.com/nic.
